Online psychologist: how does therapy work?
Online therapy offers a private space to talk about what you are going through, better understand certain situations, and develop different ways of dealing with them.
Sessions take place by video call at a previously arranged time, from a private setting. The work can begin with a specific issue or simply with the sense that something deserves to be understood more carefully. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or what type of therapy you are looking for.
The first conversation can be the place to begin understanding what is happening.

When to seek therapy
There is no single reason to see a psychologist. Some people come with a clearly identified difficulty; others simply notice that certain situations, feelings, or ways of relating keep repeating themselves. Therapy can offer a space to work through issues related to:
- decisions and periods of change;
- relationships and conflicts;
- experiences of loss or separation;
- professional life and choices;
- situations that seem to repeat themselves;
- difficulty understanding what you are feeling;
- a wish to better understand your own history and yourself.
You do not need to turn these experiences into a diagnosis or have a ready-made explanation before seeking therapy.
A first meeting before deciding
The first conversation takes place online, lasts 30 minutes, and is free of charge. It is an opportunity for you to talk about what brought you to therapy, learn about the way I work, and ask any questions about the process. At the end, we can discuss what kind of approach may be most appropriate. There is no commitment to continue.
You do not need to prepare what you are going to say or know exactly where to begin.

Two ways of working
You do not need to choose in advance between individual analysis and brief therapy. The most appropriate approach can be discussed during the first sessions, taking into account the issue you bring and the goals of the work.
Individual analysis
A process with no predetermined duration, focused on understanding broader questions related to your history, relationships, choices, and the way you experience and make sense of your life.Brief therapy
A time-limited process, usually lasting between 10 and 16 sessions, focused on a more specific issue or situation. Whether this approach is suitable depends on what emerges during the first sessions, and not every situation is necessarily appropriate for brief therapy.Online therapy in Portuguese, English, and Spanish
Sessions can be held in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. Online therapy is available for adults living in São Paulo, elsewhere in Brazil, or abroad. For people living between different countries or cultural contexts, being able to speak in the language in which certain experiences feel most natural can be particularly important.
Physical distance changes the form of the encounter, but it does not determine the depth of the work.
